Disability permits are available for those who are unable to easily get to and from their car. They come in the form of hanging tags and special license plates. License plates are only for those with permanent disabilities, while people with temporary disabilities may apply for a hanging tag. There are permits for New York State, and an additional tag for New York City. Only the NYC permit allows you to park in curbside parking spots.
